Holiday Wishes from the CEO

The holidays are traditionally a time for counting your blessings, reflecting on the past year and looking forward towards a prosperous New Year. We may all have different backgrounds and beliefs, but we will all agree that the holidays are a time for "Peace, Joy and Happiness." As we at the American Red Cross reflect and count you as our blessing, you who have allowed us to help countless families in our neighborhoods and around the world, we are amazed how we have touched and saved lives collectively.

This past year, because of you, we have collected over 7,822 pints of blood, saving more than 23,466 people, locally and maybe someone you know. We have educated, trained and empowered 24,757 people in CPR and First Aid who live with our communities and may be called upon to save the life of someone you love this coming year. We have helped 190 families who have lost everything to a fire and needed shelter, food and clothing; again, your neighbors. We are the only agency chartered by Congress to be able to transport our military men and women home to be with their families in times of joy and sorrow. Whether the birth of a child or the life threatening illness of a parent, your American Red Cross has assisted 296 families in our area this past year allowing them to be there for their families and their country.

On behalf of the volunteers and staff at the Jersey Coast Chapter, I would like to wish you and your loved ones peace, joy and happiness this holiday season.

Thank you for your good will and support.

With Deepest Gratitude,

Tara F. Kelly
