Local Businesses announce a CODE RED in Red Bank

Giving-minded professionals from all walks of life and area business came together for the launch of CODE RED, held at the Red Bank social hot spot simply known as “red”. The location’s name was certainly apropos for this “first of its kind” fundraising event to benefit the Jersey Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross. The night was designed by Red Cross Project Manager Jane Gutshall as a way for philanthropists in the community to not only network from a business point-of-view by sharing introductions, business cards, email addresses and new ideas; but also to help raise money for one of their favorite charities, the American Red Cross.

Co-hosted by the Greater Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group, new acquaintances and old friends socialized and enjoyed DonQ Pomegranate Rum-A-Ritas and St. Germaine cocktails, all generously donated by Pipeline Brand Agents, Cooper Spirits International, Seralles USA, and POM Wonderful. A cover charge donation of only $40 per person kept the gift-giving affordable and the crowd enjoyed prizewinning opportunities all night long with specially marked $5 Hershey’s chocolate kisses.

Forty lucky winners from the crowd took home gift cards to area restaurants CJ Montana’s [Tinton Falls] and the Turning Point [with locations in Long Branch at Pier Village and downtown Little Silver]. Other lucky guests took home gifts from the Atlantic Club, The Grove and Thompson’s Salon Spa in Shrewsbury and everyone felt like a winner with free $50 gift cards from Shrewsbury’s Rejuvenation Medi-Spas. The Red Cross is known worldwide as a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prepare, prevent and respond to emergencies. The Regional Chapter, located in Tinton Falls, is entirely self-supported by the generosity of giving donors and committed Coastal Community Business Partners.

The need for Red Cross Disaster Response Services in our community has doubled in the last year. In the past twelve months, the Jersey Coast Chapter has assisted almost 1,200 people with disaster relief. Most of these families lost nearly everything, and in some of these cases, suffered the tragic loss of their loved ones. The Red Cross was there 24 hours a day to provide mental health support, financial assistance and guidance during the hours and days of grief that followed. The Red Cross does not receive government funding; we rely on local community support to maintain our humanitarian aid and relief services.
