As a volunteer driven organization, the American Red Cross depends on the acts of selfless individuals to impact the lives of many. Rich in history, the American Red Cross was formed by pioneer Clara Barton in 1881. In the 128 years since our inception, the American Red Cross has touched many lives in big and small ways. To commemorate the significant impact the American Red Cross has had on history, please share your story, big or small, of how the American Red Cross has touched your life.
What is your best memory of the Red Cross? Do you swim in waters with life guards trained by the Red Cross? Did you earn a scouting badge because of your work at your local Red Cross? Have you given or received blood through the Red Cross? Was your local Red Cross there to assist you, or someone you love in a time of tragedy or war? The Jersey Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross is compiling a "BOOK OF MEMORIES" to commemorate the rich history of the American Red Cross. This book will be published for its inaugural release at our May 22, 2010 "Sentimental Journey" to be held at Convention Hall in Asbury Park. As an international organization, we welcome stories from down the street - across the nation - and around the world. Help us keep the tradition of selflessness alive. Please share your story of the American Red Cross to teach and inspire the generations to come of the importance of this humanitarian organization. Without knowing where we came from, it is impossible to grow forward.
