Honoring our Military this Veterans Day

Tomorrow, November 11th, the Jersey Coast Chapter salutes all veterans who throughout our nation's history have so valiantly and selflessly served our country. The Red Cross has a historic and unique role in supporting veterans and their family members and honoring U.S. military veterans and soldiers who lost their lives serving our country. This national holiday provides an opportunity for me, and you, to thank all veterans for their service. Please read below a touching story of how the Red Cross is touching lives every day.

When Milissa was 24 weeks pregnant, she made what she considers one of the most important phone calls of her life. It was to the Red Cross.

During a routine ultrasound, her doctors told her there were complications with the baby. All she could think about was how badly she needed her husband, Juancarlos—but he was stationed in Iraq, thousands of miles away.

Milissa called the Red Cross for help in reaching Juancarlos— and she’s recorded a short video about how that call changed her life.

Please consider making a donation so the Red Cross can help another military family connect during these life-changing moments:

We were able to give Milissa and her family the help they needed, when they needed it most.

By contributing to Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces, you can make sure other military families get the same support.

Thank you so much – and happy Veterans Day.
